Interventional Radiologists are physicians trained in using imaging guidance to perform minimally invasive, targeted treatments such as vein ablation. Their experience with X-rays, ultrasound, MRI, and other diagnostic imaging, is beneficial in vein ablation as they are especially proficient in guiding instruments, such as catheters, through the body to treat conditions and disease.


Lawrence D. Leigh, M.D.Board Member of Radiology Regional Center graduated First Decile from the Medical School of the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. He interned in medicine and surgery at Johannesburg General Hospital. After practicing for two years in South Africa and England, he immigrated to the United States. Dr. Leigh interned in Internal Medicine at Boston University Medical Center. He then completed his radiology residency at Harvard Medical School, where he also received fellowship training in cardiovascular and interventional radiology and served on the faculty. Dr. Leigh is certified by the American Board of Radiology

Dr. Scott
Peter L. Scott, M.D. is a graduate of the Indiana University Medical School for both medical and undergraduate degrees, where he completed his bachelors degree in 3 years with the distinction of Phi Beta Kappa. He performed his internship and residency in Radiology at the Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis and then went to Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, DC to complete a fellowship in pathology at the Armed Forces Institute. Prior to joining Radiology Regional Center, Dr. Scott practiced radiology in Kokomo, Indiana at Regional Health System for twenty-five years, where he also held several appointments in his tenure there. He is certified by the American Board of Radiology.

Glenn E. Groat, MD received his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and his medical degree from the SUNY Upstate Medical University.  He completed his internship at the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital for Diagnostic Radiology and his residency in Radiology at SUNY Upstate Medical University. Dr. Groat then went on to complete a Fellowship in Body Imaging and Intervention Radiology at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Groat is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and he is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, as well as the American College of Radiology.


Hazem M. Matta, D.O. recived his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, D.O. He completed her internship at Crozer-Keystone Health System - Delaware County Memorial Hospital; and his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Pennsylvania State University - Hershey Medical Center (PSU-HMC). Dr. Matta then went on to complete a Interventional Radiology Fellowship at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Matta is a Member of | Society of Interventional Radiologists | Radiological Society of North America | American College of Radiology.
